Lessons I learned this month

I decided to make this a monthly post because I feel it’s always good to reflect on the lessons that you learned whether they are good or bad. SO, this month the first lesson I learned is to not take family for granted. My husband had an uncle that passed away suddenly this month and a year ago I had a cousin that passed suddenly a year ago and she was only a few years older than my husband, so I have reflected and learned that I would be lost without my family they are the drive that keeps me going every day, my husband is my rock and without him I would not have the confidence to achieve have the things I have in my life.             The second thing I have learned is respect is not demanded it is earned. My position with my company is considered a supervisory position and I had to learn to lead and try not to butt heads with my staff. I have learned that If I give them respect and have them fee...

July Highlights

Hi guys I am going to this post every month just to let you know fun stuff I did that month. So, for the month of July My son was successful at his first Job and worked most Fridays, It was a volunteer job but I feel that even though he didn’t get paid he learned some good responsibility and sometimes that lesson is better than money, he got some good experience as well.            We had fourth of July that was this month and we like every other red-blooded American celebrated our countries birth by attending the Parade in my city. I am very lucky I can walk up the street from my house and watch the parade. The only issue with that is we are pretty much blocked in until at least 1 pm. After the parade, we had a BBQ in the field with family and when it got dark we watched the fireworks for the freedom festival.            In my state, we celebrate another holiday in July called Pione...

Vacation time?!

Today’s Challenge is a little on the vague side and just said Vacation, So I am going to approach it from the point of view of if I could have my dream vacation what would I do and Where would I like to go. Now I have not had an actual vacation in many years the last vacation I had was when my 11-year-old daughter was still in an infant care seat and was barely walking. We went camping for a weekend and I spent most of the night awake because she got cold and crawled to the bottom of my sleeping bag. And we discovered that she was allergic to dogs on this same vacation. (the other people we were camping with had a dog that my little girl loved a lot) she broke out with a red rash all over her face and hands. It was cold and the kids were bored. I would say that it was a miserable experience at that time.                 My next vacation with the kids will be DISNEYLAND!!! Yes, I said it and yes, I have teena...

Challenge #4 : HOW I DEFINE PERSONAL GROWTH

Today’s challenge is how do you define personal growth, And as I was thinking about this and trying to figure out what I wanted to write and how I wanted to explain this, I thought of something my grandmother used to tell me she would say” As long as you learn something new every day the day was a good day, even when you’re an old woman and can barely get around try to learn something new.” So, as I sat thinking of this phrase that she actually said to me quite often, I came to a realization that this was in its simplest form what personal growth means to me. Learning something new in any area of your life or in several areas of your life if you’re like me.               I as a kid would challenge myself with my reading skills (reading was something I loved doing) and I would set what a lot of people thought were outrageous goals for myself (such as reading 5000 pages in a 1-month period of time) and I would achieve them...

Challenge #3: TOP 3 HEADLINES FOR JULY, HEADLINE #3

OK guys today will be the last day of Challenge 3, and I got good news I get to return to work, so with that being said I think I will be getting into a blog groove and be posting on Monday Wed, and Friday. Due to my work schedule. Monday will be a what’s on your mind Monday.  Wed will be a We create Wed so I will post tutorials and Friday will be fun Friday which will be a hodgepodge of fun.         OK now on to today’s Headline Millville woman charged in attempted assisted suicide case Now I know this can be a touchy subject but I want to know what your opinion is. I feel like this is a huge debate just like abortions. Because what isn’t right for one person isn’t entirely wrong for someone else. The facts I learned from the article: ·          A 36-year-old woman provided the needed items to a 55-year-old woman to commit suicide ·         ...

Challenge #3: TOP 3 HEADLINES FOR JULY, HEADLINE #2

Ok todays headline I debated on posting but in the end, I decided to go with it. I am curious for others comments and feelings toward this article. Couple tried to hide newborn's addiction by giving her drugs, police say        Ok so with that being posted I was kind of curious how a parent could give a newborn drug at all. So, I began my research to answer the questions I had in my mind, Which I am sure that this headline has brought up questions for you.             So, the facts that I learned:   ·         The couple was arrested after a Month-long investigation ·         The police discovered that the couple were able to give the newborn drugs while in the hospital ·         3 others of the couple’s young children also tested positive for drugs ·    ...

Challenge #3: TOP 3 HEADLINES FOR JULY, HEADLINE #1

For this challenge, I think it may have to be split into separate posts, I don’t want to make these posts extremely long but I also want to give each headline a lot of discussion. So, with that being said let’s get onto the first headline:                            Florida Teenagers Who Mocked Drowning Man Won’t Face Charges           This headline comes from NBCNEWS.com. and THESTAR.com.  I saw this headline and was intrigued, so many question ran though my head. First of all, why would someone, ANYONE whether it be a teenager or not just stand by and watch let alone mock a man as he was drowning? Second of all how did authorities know that the teenagers mocked this man? Well I am not one who jumps immediately to conclusions. So, I began reading the article. Here are some of the facts that ...

Challenge #2: MY PERSONAL STYLE

Today’s challenge is to describe my own personal style. Well to describe my style…. Hmm that could be a tough one, I would describe my style as comfortable. Ha Ha!! I am not picky when it comes to clothes basically grab and go. I wear a lot of t-shirts and jeans. I was born at the end of the 70’s which had a wonderful style. I remember going through my mom’s closet and seeing all the colors and fringe. I feel like it was unique and amazing but not my style.  I grew up during the 80’s and I loved the bright neon colors and I am almost certain that the over use of hairspray could be the single contributing factor to the hole in the ozone layer!! I could never sport the teased bangs myself but I did have the feathered hair look. I did admire that the 80’s was a decade devoted to a unisex look pretty much anyone could wear the fashion and look cool. Male or female it could be adapted accordingly. (I am sure we all remember the hair bands of the 80’s, some of my favorite bands come f...

Blog Writing Challenge Number 1: HEY THERE!

I have decided to kick off my blog writing with doing some writing challenges. I began a bullet journal a few months ago and have been doing the rock your handwriting challenges to try and better my handwriting. So, I thought some of the challenges would make great blog posts to get my creative ideas flowing. And to try and focus and practice putting my thoughts in a post and to also get used to posting on a regular basis. Now I want these to be as interactive as they can be so please feel free to comment on any of these.                For this challenge, I am supposed to describe myself. Well in a previous post I went into a detailed explanation of who I am so in this post I am going to be more abstract. Maybe I’ll try some poetry as well . Or Maybe not…           I go by many names… I am a mom, a sister, a daughter, a coworker, a superviso...

Introductions: Who is CraftyMomm?..

Hi I am here to talk a little bit about who I am, I am CraftyMomm. I run a channel on YouTube. I have been asked by several of my followers and friends about my unique personal insights into different things such as parenting and the facts of life. I thought it would be easier to post responses here so everyone can see them and so that it may help more people. So, I recently have been without work so with a lot of time on my hands I decided to really give it a go and see if I can make this a success. I really wish I had more time to be with my family and I think that this may be the way I can do it.           With that being said I am an almost 40-year-old mom, I have two wonderful children. A boy and a girl whom I would do anything for. Both of my children are coming up on teenage years. One is 14 and the other is 11, this gives me interesting insight into parenting because believ...
