Introductions: Who is CraftyMomm?..

Hi I am here to talk a little bit about who I am, I am CraftyMomm. I run a channel on YouTube. I have been asked by several of my followers and friends about my unique personal insights into different things such as parenting and the facts of life. I thought it would be easier to post responses here so everyone can see them and so that it may help more people. So, I recently have been without work so with a lot of time on my hands I decided to really give it a go and see if I can make this a success. I really wish I had more time to be with my family and I think that this may be the way I can do it.
With that being said I am an almost 40-year-old mom, I have two wonderful children. A boy and a girl whom I would do anything for. Both of my children are coming up on teenage years. One is 14 and the other is 11, this gives me interesting insight into parenting because believe me I have had discussions with my children I never thought I would ever have in a million years! For example: Explaining to my daughter why it is not ok to pick her brothers nose when he was sleeping!! (Now she was around 3 at this time but still wasn’t a conversation I thought I would ever have to have.) And of course, it hasn’t gotten easier as they have grown.
I have been married to a wonderful man for 14 years.  He has been my rock, my best friend when I felt everyone else had forsaken me. We have had an amazing marriage and of course 14 years in this day and age is saying something. We are each other’s yin and yang we just sort of work. I tell him it’s because he likes the strange and unusual. He just laughs and says its because opposites attract, and that could be true, He hardly worries about anything, he is laid back and I am just the opposite I worry about almost everything. So, we balance out I worry enough to get him motivated and he is relaxed enough to keep me anchored.
I graduated with an associate’s degree in applied science in Medical assisting. I was fortunate to have been able to be a stay at home mom for the first 6 years of my son’s life and the first 4 of my daughters. I went to college in the evening after my husband got home from work at 6, I would go to school at 7 pm attend till 10, stay up doing homework until 2 am and then got up with the kids at 7 am and I am proud to say that I graduated with High honors, It was not easy by no means but I felt that was the best time to do it because my kids were young enough to not notice as much that mom was gone.   I continued my education by starting a bachelor’s degree in psychology I have 2 years under my belt and a few years ago when the economy tanked my husband lost his job so I went to work.
I have worked several jobs since I graduated, I was a telemarketer (I have the utmost respect for people who can do that job it was not my cup of tea) I have been a home health aide which I have done for 2 years, and I am currently employed with a company that I have been working for six years. I am an assistant for a day program for special needs adults.  It is a very fulfilling job I feel like I make difference every time I go to work.
So that is a little about me I hope that you will follow me on my blogging journey I have a feeling it is going to be a wild ride!!!

I have always wanted to....

So without further ado here is today's post (that should have been posted on friday). Today's topic is... I have always wanted to... Well to answer this question I would say there are several things I have always wanted to do but most of them I'm to scared to try lol. Such as I think it would be an amazing experience to go surfing and scuba diving. But because I can't swim very well I am to scared to try. My motto is I can only drown once! Lol I know that's not really funny but it's strange how rear can dictate what a person does. I think seeing all the fish and coral would be amazing. I have heard from others that have done it and they said the experience was breathtaking, and that words could not explain it.        Another thing that I would love to do is see all 50 states and I have been to 5 so far but unfortunately that takes money. That's another thing that dictates what people can do. Money i...

Handbook for the recently deceased makeup palette

So, I was watching YouTube and I really enjoy watching makeup reviews especially inexpensive make up. I enjoy this because I feel like it’s makeup, that I could maybe buy and use someday. I saw a woman reviewing a very unique palette. Her YouTube name is nerdy girl Makeup. (I will leave the link at the bottom of the post so you can check her out) I just ran across her and started watching because of this palette. I have since subscribed and really enjoy her tutorials and reviews you should check her out. Any way back to the topic at hand. She was reviewing this palette that was based on the beetle juice movie. I am a huge fan of anything Halloween. So, I decided that I needed this palette in my life. So, this journey took me to my local Mall. Because this palette can only be found at Hot Topic in the Mall. Now for any one that knows me knows that I am not the biggest fan of the mall. But I felt I would make an exception to have this palette in my life. So, I went to Hot...

Introduction to wilderness series

Hey all welcome back, Today I am wanting to talk about something a little serious, in my area we have been having some earthquake activity. Now we don’t have many noticeable earthquakes here, I am from Utah and we have little ones you know the barely noticeable ones but lately they have been getting stronger. The last one that was recorded that was large for here was 4.1 and it was southern Utah on April 13th. But we are having bigger and bigger ones. So, with that being said I thought it would be a good idea to talk about what to do in an emergency situation. Now being prepared will always be first and foremost the most important thing. A little prep will make things so much better for the future. I posted a poll on twitter asking in a disaster what would be the first thing you would want to do. 1. Make a shelter 2. Gather/finding a clean water source 3. Make a fire 4. Get a food source Now for me the first two things I would probably do is find a water ...
