July Highlights

Hi guys I am going to this post every month just to let you know fun stuff I did that month. So, for the month of July My son was successful at his first Job and worked most Fridays, It was a volunteer job but I feel that even though he didn’t get paid he learned some good responsibility and sometimes that lesson is better than money, he got some good experience as well.
We had fourth of July that was this month and we like every other red-blooded American celebrated our countries birth by attending the Parade in my city. I am very lucky I can walk up the street from my house and watch the parade. The only issue with that is we are pretty much blocked in until at least 1 pm. After the parade, we had a BBQ in the field with family and when it got dark we watched the fireworks for the freedom festival.
In my state, we celebrate another holiday in July called Pioneer Day its July 24 and it is the day that the Mormon pioneers came to our area. We celebrated this by going to a pioneer festival and my kids were able to experience some of the things that the early settlers would have had to do, such as sawing wood, making bread, making soap. We were able to go through a pioneer village and the kids got to sit in a covered wagon and dress up like pioneers. They also had blacksmiths working and native Americans doing the hoop dance, this was a nice experience for my kids to learn about their ancestors since I had a great grandfather that was a little boy and came across with the pioneers. I am all about the learning and teaching moments to teach the kids about where they came from.

And last but not least I restarted my Blog. I did this because I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with all of you readers so that maybe something I have been through could help someone else. Thanks for stopping by today and this is just a bonus post this month thanks again and tune in on Wed for Weigh in Wed

I have always wanted to....

So without further ado here is today's post (that should have been posted on friday). Today's topic is... I have always wanted to... Well to answer this question I would say there are several things I have always wanted to do but most of them I'm to scared to try lol. Such as I think it would be an amazing experience to go surfing and scuba diving. But because I can't swim very well I am to scared to try. My motto is I can only drown once! Lol I know that's not really funny but it's strange how rear can dictate what a person does. I think seeing all the fish and coral would be amazing. I have heard from others that have done it and they said the experience was breathtaking, and that words could not explain it.        Another thing that I would love to do is see all 50 states and I have been to 5 so far but unfortunately that takes money. That's another thing that dictates what people can do. Money i...

Handbook for the recently deceased makeup palette

So, I was watching YouTube and I really enjoy watching makeup reviews especially inexpensive make up. I enjoy this because I feel like it’s makeup, that I could maybe buy and use someday. I saw a woman reviewing a very unique palette. Her YouTube name is nerdy girl Makeup. (I will leave the link at the bottom of the post so you can check her out) I just ran across her and started watching because of this palette. I have since subscribed and really enjoy her tutorials and reviews you should check her out. Any way back to the topic at hand. She was reviewing this palette that was based on the beetle juice movie. I am a huge fan of anything Halloween. So, I decided that I needed this palette in my life. So, this journey took me to my local Mall. Because this palette can only be found at Hot Topic in the Mall. Now for any one that knows me knows that I am not the biggest fan of the mall. But I felt I would make an exception to have this palette in my life. So, I went to Hot...

Introduction to wilderness series

Hey all welcome back, Today I am wanting to talk about something a little serious, in my area we have been having some earthquake activity. Now we don’t have many noticeable earthquakes here, I am from Utah and we have little ones you know the barely noticeable ones but lately they have been getting stronger. The last one that was recorded that was large for here was 4.1 and it was southern Utah on April 13th. But we are having bigger and bigger ones. So, with that being said I thought it would be a good idea to talk about what to do in an emergency situation. Now being prepared will always be first and foremost the most important thing. A little prep will make things so much better for the future. I posted a poll on twitter asking in a disaster what would be the first thing you would want to do. 1. Make a shelter 2. Gather/finding a clean water source 3. Make a fire 4. Get a food source Now for me the first two things I would probably do is find a water ...
